I have to find the area of the trapezoid and the parallelogram by composing into rectangles or decomposing into triangles or shapes as needed. Show your work neatly and completely.

The numbers are:18cm, 7 cm, 12cm and 10cm

I am not sure how I can do this. Is there any way I can post a picture on here?

Describe the figure by using letters such as

ABCD, naming them in a counter-clockwise order.
More information is needed, such as
AB || BC or angleC = 35°

There is a width of 7 cm

There is an entire length of 18cm
part of a length at the bottom of 12cm
and on the left hand side of the figure half or diagnol line with 10cm

Can I just make the entire figure into a rectangle and then add 18cm as my length and extend the 12 cm at the bottom to also make it into a length of 18cm and those two numbers together.

18cm + 18cm=36 cm as the length

Then if one side is already 7cm as the width then make the other side into 7cm and add to make 14 cm?

Then can I just use the formula A=lxw?

Your original post mentioned trapezoids and parallograms.

None of your last 3 posts indicated which lines are parallel. I also suggested using letters, you did none of that.
I still cannot visualize your figure.

Hello Reiny I am not sure and confused on how you want me to do this with letters.
