I am an assistant to my professor this semester and I am not very familiar with Outlook. I have two questions that could hopefully be answered and that way I can educate myself further with this program.

1.She wants me to put in her calendar that she will be gone Thursday from 5am-5pm, that way when people look at her calendar it will show that she is gone and where she will be at. I’m not quite sure how to do this on her behalf through my Outlook.

2.She would also like for me to put into her and my calendar days I will be gone, that way it will show up on her side when I will be gone. I recall her saying it to be a calendar invite but I’m not quite sure how to do this process either.

Thanks!

No one here knows, obviously, but you might find your answer in here somewhere:

Remember -- Google is your friend!

Sure! I can help you with both of your questions in relation to using Outlook. Here's how you can accomplish each task:

1. Adding an event to your professor's calendar:
- Open your Outlook application or go to Outlook on the web.
- On the left-hand side, you should see a list of folders. Look for "Calendar" and click on it.
- Now, you'll see a view of the calendar. Select the date and time on the calendar when your professor will be gone (Thursday from 5 am to 5 pm).
- Once you've selected the time slot, a new event window will open. Fill in the necessary details such as the event title, location, and any additional notes.
- To indicate that your professor will be out of the office, you can include a note in the description field or select a specific category color for the event.
- Once you have filled in all the details, click on the "Save & Close" button to add the event to your professor's calendar.

2. Adding a calendar invite for your absence:
- Follow the same steps as above to open your Outlook calendar.
- Select the date and time when you will be gone. A new event window will appear.
- Fill in the event title, location (if applicable), and any additional information related to your absence.
- To send a calendar invite to your professor, fill in her email address in the attendee field. You can also add yourself if you want the event to appear on your calendar.
- Once you have filled in the necessary information, click on the "Invite Attendees" button (or similar wording based on your Outlook version).
- A separate email window will open with the event details and a button to send the invitation. Add any additional notes or instructions in the email body if needed, and then send the email.

By following these steps, you should be able to add events to your professor's calendar and send calendar invites for your own absence. Remember, these instructions may vary slightly based on the version of Outlook you are using, so adjust accordingly.
