Describe and account the differences between the drainage pattern of the Indus system and that of Balochistan plateau.
The Indus Drainage System
The Indus enters the south-east of Baltistan from Tibet and Kashmir and flows north-west in a series of deep gorges between the Karakoram and Himalayan ranges. Soon after entering the Gilgit District it turns south between the Hindu Kush and Himalayas and then west and later south-west, still in very deep gorges. After leaving the mountainous region at Kalabagh the river enters the plains of Punjab and Sindh. Finally the Indus flows into the Arabian Sea.
The Balochistan Plateau Drainage System
Quetta being a high altitude region has the central position in the drainage pattern of Balochistan.
Rivers like Zhob, Khandar and the Kalachi drain into River Indus because they flow eastwards.
The rivers Loralai, Chakar, Bolan and Mula are absorbed into the Kachhi Sibi Plain.
The rivers Hab, Porali, Hingol and Mashkel drain into the Arabian Sea.
There are many small rivers that flow westward and drain into shallow depressions called hamuns.
Indus System:
rivers are bigger. flows throughout the year, is the main source of irrigation. it is watered by the hindu kush and the korakorams.
Balochistan plateau:
rivers are much smaller. flows during the monsoon seasons, has little value as a source for irrigation. watered by rain thats why mostly dry troughout the year.

Malik's answer is literally copied from my own course book. If I wanted the same answer as written in the book why would I waste my time searching for the answer. Besides the question asks to describe as well as account for the difference so, in my opinion the answer should be longer.

the Indus shows the highest discharge during the Monsoon season. It is also fed by the glaciers of Hindu Kush and Karakoramranges .Which are bigger in size than glaciers. Dams and barrages on the river regulate the flow of water to protect the areas against the flood and to reduce water loss to the sea . According toIndus Water Treaty 1960,India was given authority over the three eastern rivers of Indus system ,the beas, the Sulej and the Ravi .Due to this,these rivers are leftwith less water as they flow into Pakistan .....Rivers in Balochistan are much smaller than in Indus system bcz they flow only during Monsoon seasons and the most of the rivers remain dry for most of the year. They have value as sources for irrigation..
