Two stores carry a similar stereo for the same original price of $573. One store offers a 16% discount and the second store sells the stereo for $458.40. Which store gives the bigger percent discount? Justify your answer.

Anways, since Im nice. The answer is

573-458.4 divided by 573 = 0.2 or 20 %.
20% of 458.40 is 91.68, the second store is cheaper.

100 - 16 = 84

.84*573 = 481.32

which is more than 458.40

The second store price is cheaper beacuse 16% of 573 gives off $91.68 and when u do that u get $481.32 so 458.40 is cheaper.

thank chu

Im lil confused.. But thank u so much for the answer:3 <3

Agal, you idiot. .84 and 0.84 is the same thing.

First, you would do 16% of 573 and you would get $91.68.

Then you would subtract 91.68 by 573 and get 481.32.
So the second store has the bigger percent discount since $481.32 is more than $458.40.

100 - 16 = 84

.84*573 = 481.32

which is more than 458.40

this might be correct

i dont understand ;-;

It needs to be broken down more because I have no idea where the 100 came from.
