For our assignemnt, we must come up with 4 jobs we would want to pursue :

• Short Term: This will be a job that you would like to do while you are in school as either a summer job or as coop student.
• Medium Term or Early Career: This will be a position that you would like to do as soon as you graduate and continue to grow into for the next 2 or 3 years after graduation. Note: This Medium Term position should build on your Short term position.
• Long Term: This would be a position that you think you would like to do around 5 years or so after graduation. Note: This Long Term position should build on your medium term position.
• Totally off the wall or bizarre job. A job that is not connected to your short, medium or long term career but rather one that sounds awesome for you and hits on all of your personal values.

I am currenlty in the business program and i would want to be an accountant one day. For my short term I am thinking of banking? Can anyone help me think of a medium and long term job that will relate to my short term job also the bizarre job? I just need idea because currenlty i am clueless. keep in mind I will have to actually find these jobs online and provide my teacher with links. thanks :)

It sounds like your long term goal might be a CPA in a prestigious firm. Medium range might include banking or income tax preparer.

Bizarre? TV anchor? Cowgirl? Jockey at the Kentucky Derby? U.S. Senator? What are your fantasies?

Another thought. You may want to start in an entry level position in a prestigious accounting firm.

ok so lets say my long term is becoming an accountant, now what will my short term and medium terms be?

are there any titles for theses jobs because i need to look them up?

You should probably start with an entry level job in a large accounting firm.

Sure! To help you come up with ideas for your medium and long term jobs, let's consider how they can relate to your short term job in banking and your long term goal of becoming an accountant.

Medium Term: Building on your short term job in banking, a possible medium term position could be a Financial Analyst in a large financial institution. This role would allow you to utilize your skills in financial analysis, forecasting, and reporting, which are important skills for both banking and accounting. Financial Analysts often work closely with accountants, providing them with valuable financial information and analysis. To find job opportunities, you can search on websites like LinkedIn, Indeed, or Glassdoor using keywords such as "Financial Analyst" and filtering the results based on your preferred location.

Long Term: Building on your medium term position as a Financial Analyst, a suitable long term job could be a Senior Financial Accountant or an Assistant Controller. These positions involve more complex accounting responsibilities, such as managing financial statements, internal controls, and overseeing financial operations. By gaining experience as a Financial Analyst, you would have a solid foundation to transition into a more senior accounting role. Again, you can search for job opportunities on various job search platforms using relevant keywords like "Senior Financial Accountant" or "Assistant Controller."

Bizarre Job: For your off-the-wall job, think about something that aligns with your personal interests and values. Perhaps you could consider becoming a sustainability consultant for businesses, helping them integrate environmentally friendly practices into their operations. This job would allow you to combine your business knowledge with your passion for sustainability and make a positive impact. To find potential opportunities for such unique roles, you can search on websites specifically focused on sustainability such as Sustainable Business or GreenJobs.

Remember, when searching for job opportunities online, use appropriate keywords and narrow down your search by location or other preferences. Good luck with your assignment!
