What action verb would you use to replace "got" in the following sentence?
On his way home, he got run over.
I am out of clues as to what action verb to use in this sentence. Please help me!
Change it to active, not passive, voice.
On his way home, a car ran over him.
Thanks, but what would you do if you could not change the order of the sentence and its words?
I agree with Ms. Sue that the better sentence would be active instead of passive.
However, the normal way to make passives is to use a form of the verb 'to be.'
am, are, is are, was, were ...
If you must keep the sentence in passive voice, then which form of the verb 'to be' would you use?
