What is the equation of the line containing the two points (-4, 8) and (1, -7)?

slope is (-7-8)/(1+4) = -15/5 = -3
so y = -3x + b
plug in one of your points, I picked (-4,8) :
8 = -3(-4) + b ---> b = -4
so y = -3x - 4
now, how easy was that?
