I am trying to report significant data but I'm not sure how to write it out professionally. I did two nominal variables in a chi square test on SPSS. The significance I found is .061 across from "Likelihood Ratio" and under "Asymp sig. 2 Sided". Does that even mean anything?!

I would write it something like this:

"College students' choice in major correlated with what the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator suggested for them with a significance of .061."

Im not sure if I'm writing it correctly and if I need parenthesis and whatnot. Please help my project is due tomorrow! Thanks!

It would depend on what level of significance you are using. Typically it is

P ≤ .05. If you are using this cut-off point and the level you found was .061, you should say that the relationship was a chance one.
