Just this once, I'll take 'em apart for you!
#18
What costume should I wear to the party tonight? "I" is the pronoun, but it's not in objective case.

Maybe Martha will loan me something. "me" is the pronoun, and it's in the objective case; it's serving as the indirect object

Her costumes are always the best. "Her" is the pronoun, but in this case it's being used to show possession, not being used as an object of anything.

She won first prize in a Halloween contest last year! "She" is the pronoun, but it's not in objective case.

OK, now -- you tell me what you think about each of the choices in #17. Remember: you're looking for a PRONOUN that's being used like a predicate noun. It'll be in the subject (nominative) case.

17. Which of the following sentences includes a predicate pronoun?

Justin and Meg are the winners of the contest.

The winners of the contest are they

The winners of the contest are Justin and Meg.

The winners of the contest are excited.

okay thank you. what about number 17 is it C? Maybe A?

nevermind I posted that comment about 17 right after you commentied on it so just forget about my last comment.

For #17 -- you're still not recognizing PRONOUNS.

Did you look at the pronouns part of the chart here:
http://grammar.ccc.commnet.edu/grammar/cases.htm

??

I did look at all the pronouns. But I still don't get it. B? I think it is b

Yes, B.

The reason most student miss this one is because it sounds so stilted and "off" when you read it. But it's grammatically correct, AND it's the only one in which there's a predicate PRONOUN.
