how do you find the x intercepts for the equation x^2 + 7x -12?

like, I know you have to set it equal to 0 but I have no clue what numbers multiply to -12 and add to +7. plz help

There aren't any numbers that will work.

If the 12 was positive
It would factor to 4 and 3

There will not be any x-intercepts since it isn't factorable.

I don't know if you have worked with imaginary solutions, but that is what you would have here.
