Where do most people in Arabia and Iraq live?

a. in the Fertile Crescent
b. in the Rub' al-Khali
c. in cities
d. in and around Mecca

I think the answer is "a" because people have clustered in the mountains of Iraw and Yemen, near the Tigris and Euphrates rivers of Iraq and desert oases on the Arabian Peninsula.

I did search on the book and that what is says, and in the map it looks like people have clustered in the fertile cresent since there's water in there.

I'm not sure.
This is the only question in which I have doubt.

Thanks

I agree.

I suspect, though, that most people also live in cities in these two countries.

cities. Compare these two maps, one of population, one of cities.

Is there any webpage that can help?

yes, look at those two.

It's true that the countries of the region are heavily urbanized. I'm really confused. I'll keep studying.

bobpursley's link was not a live link. Here it is:

I agree, good job explaining instead of just asking!!!

I did my study and the truth is they mostly live in towns and cities.

You are correct, the answer is "a. in the Fertile Crescent." The Fertile Crescent is a region in the Middle East that stretches from the eastern Mediterranean coast to the Persian Gulf, including parts of present-day Iraq, Syria, Lebanon, Jordan, Palestine, and Israel. This region is called the Fertile Crescent because it is geographically advantageous for agriculture due to its fertile soil and access to water from the Tigris and Euphrates rivers.

The Fertile Crescent has been an important region since ancient times, and it is where some of the earliest civilizations in human history developed, such as Sumer, Babylon, and Assyria. The availability of water and fertile land has led to the establishment of many settlements and cities in this area, and it continues to be one of the most densely populated regions in the Arab world.

To find this answer, you correctly used logical reasoning by considering factors such as the presence of water and looking at a map. It's great that you cross-referenced your answer with a book as well. Keep up the good work in using various sources of information to verify your understanding!
