They drove a hard bargain. They pressured us to agree to the deal. They were fair in the end. We agreed to the deal. The four sentences are stated in chronological order, which is the best method for condensing the four sentences.

A.we agreed to the deal because they drove a hard bargain and pressured us to agree to the deal, but they were fair in the end.
B.They drove a hard bargain and pressured us to agree to the deal; however, we agreed to the deal because they were fair in the end.
C.They drove a hard bargain and pressured us to agree to the deal, but they were fair in the end so we agreed to the deal.
D.We Agreed to the deal because they were fair in the end while driving a hard bargain and pressuring us to agree to the deal.
My answer is A

I don't like any of them because "agreed/agree to the deal" is repeated, no matter what you choose.

D is just plain awful! Wordy!
C is also wordy.
B is so-so because the repeated phrases are too close together, IMO.
A is not terrific, but is better than the others.

I thought the same way too. That's why I chose A. Thanks.

The reason why they agreed to the deal is because they were fair in the end. That makes "A" not the answer. Option "B" is the answer in my opinion. "C" and "D" are obviously out of it

Your answer is correct. Option A is the best method for condensing the four sentences. It maintains the chronological order of events and effectively conveys the key information.
