In one hour, Ed used 2/5 of the time to complete his homework and 1/4 of the time to check his email. How much time did he spend completing his homework and checking email? Write your answer as a fraction. (Bonus: write the answer in minutes.)
2/5 + 1/4 = 13/20 hr * 60 min/hr = 39 min
Basically, all you have to do is multiply 2/5 with a number to get the denominator to 20. Which would make the number 4, but you also have to multiply whatever is on the bottom on the top so 2/5 x 4/4. Then do the same with 1/4; (1/4 x 5/5). Then you have to add the fractions together (8/20 + 5/20). You get 13/20 hr
This was so helpful to help me with my homework
39

umm i still need more help please

I don’t get how you are supposed to get 13-20 when you have to use a box and draw lines like on my paper it makes no sense.
Can you do it with the box where you have you have to draw lines and stufff plssssssss.
