Hey everyone could you help me with this? Ben has 2/3 of a large candy bar. He is going to split it into 4 parts for his friends. How much of the candy bar does each friend get?

Divide 2/3 by 4

0.166666666....... is the answer that you should get. I don't know if its right or not.

A fraction would be more useful in this problem.

Wouldn't you just say 2/3 / 4 = 2/3 x 1/4 = 1/6

To find out how much of the candy bar each friend gets, we need to divide the candy bar into 4 equal parts.

Since Ben has 2/3 of the candy bar, we need to determine what fraction each friend will receive.

To divide a fraction, we need to multiply it by the reciprocal of the divisor (the number we are dividing by). In this case, the fractional part that each friend will receive is 1/4.

To find out what fraction of 2/3 each friend will receive, we can multiply 2/3 by 1/4:

(2/3) x (1/4) = 2/12

So each friend will receive 2/12 of the large candy bar.

To simplify this fraction, we can divide the numerator and denominator by their greatest common divisor, which is 2:

(2/12) รท 2/2 = 1/6

Therefore, each friend will receive 1/6 of the large candy bar.
