can u guys help me add some adverbs (6 or 10) to this story that i summarized thanks in advance!! (^_^):

Black, cloudy night-time hung over the backdrop of the house. The grey, ramshackle walls of the house looked worn and forbidding, and the dilapidated stairway said to lead and not return.

The creaking floor met my feet with clouds of hanging dust as musty smells attempted to overcome me. The house’s burned timbers watched me with growing malice. Darkened the rooms made seeing impossible, and rotted woodwork broke at the merest touch. Scurrying rats made frightened sounds as I walked past. The collapsed roof moaned under the pressure of a cold, persistent wind, and black stagnant water filled the basement in an uninviting pool.

I saw the form of a girl hovering in the corner of a room. The floating storm form stood as the most peaceful thing in the house. She moved about the room and appeared to search for things long since gone. She looked upon me as the eerie wind howled between the timbers. She faded and was gone. I wondered who she was, and I wonder to this day.

No, we won't do your work for you. Look for the verb(s) in each sentence and think of adverbs that would modify them.

Okay, I'll give you an example. How did the ghostly woman search? Distractedly? Fitfully? Frantically? Diligently? How?

the ghostly woman search distractedly??

Certainly! Here are some adverbs that you can add to the story:

1. Gloomily: Black, cloudy night-time hung gloomily over the backdrop of the house.
2. Wornly: The grey, ramshackle walls of the house looked wornly and forbidding.
3. Sinisterly: The dilapidated stairway said to lead sinisterly and not return.
4. Creepily: The creaking floor met my feet creepily with clouds of hanging dust.
5. Mustily: Musty smells attempted to overcome me mustily.
6. Maliciously: The house's burned timbers watched me maliciously.
7. Impossibly: The darkened rooms made seeing impossibly.
8. Fragilely: The rotted woodwork broke fragilely at the merest touch.
9. Frighteningly: Scurrying rats made frightening sounds as I walked past.
10. Persistently: The collapsed roof moaned persistently under the pressure of a cold wind.

Remember, to make the story flow better, make sure to place the adverbs before the verbs they modify.
