Good lord.

first: correct
second: correct
third: Loyalists were loyal to King George
fourth You have be kidding. My ancestors fought the last two years without food, shoes, and shirts. That is hardly improvement.
last: None of the answers are good. The last answer is correct in they believed that the states were in an agree confideration, and each state was in charge of itself. This is now called states rights, or state sovereignty. The fear of Lincoln was not great, because the southern states did not believe he had the power (nor the federal government) had the constitutional power to abolish slavery, that salvery was accepted by the constitution (albeit some then, especially in the North, disagreed with thisj)(one might read the Constitution to see this position). Overall the last answer is probably the best, but reviewing the battle of Bull Run preparations, it is pretty clear that the South did not FEAR Lincoln. They feared Lincoln about as much as Iran feared Jimmy Carter in the taking of the Embassy hostages. Fear is the wrong word in the given answer, but it is the best answer. I hate answers that sneak in the word "and" to seduce one to believe both parts were true.

5.) The correct answer is "separation of powers." This principle divides power among the executive, legislative, and judicial branches of government to ensure a system of checks and balances and prevent the concentration of power in one branch.

6.) The correct answer is "supported the British crown." Loyalists were colonists who remained loyal to the British monarchy and opposed the American Revolution. Patriots, on the other hand, supported independence from Great Britain and fought for the establishment of the United States.

9.) The correct answer is "It deteriorated." During the Civil War, the South's economy suffered greatly due to the disruption caused by the conflict. The war led to the destruction of crops, infrastructure, and the collapse of the slave labor system, which were all major factors impacting the economy of the southern states.

10.) The correct answer is "They feared Lincoln would abolish slavery and violate states' rights." The primary reason for the secession of the South from the Union was the fear that Abraham Lincoln, who was elected as president in 1860, would seek to abolish slavery and infringe upon the rights of individual states to determine their own policies regarding slavery. This fear led several southern states to secede and form the Confederate States of America.
