this question is not a question but 20 questions. i appreciate if you review all my answers, but i wont provide an answer for the last question (most probably since i didn't finish answering it or typing it out since i only have an hour to do that). now, let's get started. tank you tutors

Bart Simpson Identify the Controls and Variables

Smithers thinks that a special juice will increase the productivity of workers. He creates two groups of 50 workers each and assigns each group the same task (in this case, they're supposed to staple a set of papers). Group A is given the special juice to drink while they work. Group B is not given the special juice. After an hour, Smithers counts how many stacks of papers each group has made. Group A made 1,587 stacks, Group B made 2,113 stacks.

Identify the:

1. Control Group
my answer: Group B

2. Independent Variable
my answer: One group was given special juice

3. Dependent Variable
my answer: The productivity both group

4. What would Smithers' conclusion be?
my answer: Special juice slows down the productivity of workers when drinking special juice while working.

5. How could this experiment be improved?
my answer: This experiment could be improved by having group B drink water and water as the control group.

Homer notices that his shower is covered in a strange green slime. His friend Barney tells him that coconut juice will get rid of the green slime. Homer decides to check this out by spraying half of the shower with coconut juice. He sprays the other half of the shower with water. After 3 days of "treatment" there is no change in the appearance of the green slime on either side of the shower.

6. What did Homer observe about his shower?
my answer: Homer observed the green slime in his shower.

Identify the-
7. Control Group
my answer: Water sprayed on one side of the shower covered in green slime.

8. Independent Variable
my answer: Coconut juice is sprayed on one side of the shower covered in green slime.

9. Dependent Variable
my answer: The cleanliness or appearance of green slime of and in the shower.

10. What should Homer's conclusion be?
my answer: Coconut juice doesn't effect the green slime's appearance in his shower and Bayner shouldn't be trusted.

Bart believes that mice exposed to microwaves will become extra strong (maybe he's been reading too much Radioactive Man). He decides to perform this experiment by placing 10 mice in a microwave for 10 seconds. He compared these 10 mice to another 10 mice that had not been exposed. His test consisted of a heavy block of wood that blocked the mouse food. He found that 8 out of 10 of the microwaved mice were able to push the block away. 7 out of 10 of the non-microwaves mice were able to do the same.

Identify the-
11. Control Group
my answer: 10 non-microwaved mice

12. Independent Variable
my answer: 10 microwave exposed mice for 10 secs

13. Dependent Variable
my answer: Microwave exposed mice and non-microwaved mice strengths'.

14. What should Bart's conclusion be?
my answer: Microwave exposed mice will become a little more strong than non-exposed microwave mice.

15. How could Bart's experiment be improved?
my answer: Bart's experiment could be improved if he had another 10 microwaved mice for 20 seconds to be more accurate.

Krusty was told that a certain itching powder was the newest best ting on the market, it even claims to cause 50% longer lasting itches. Interested in this product, he buys that itching powder and compares it to his usual product. One test subject (A) is sprinkled with the original itching powder, and another test subject (B) was sprinkled with the Experimental itching powder. Subject A reported having itches for 30 minutes. Subject B reported to having itches for 45 minutes.

Identify the-
16. Control Group
my answer: His original itching powder sprinkled on a subject.

17. Independent Variable
my answer: The newest best itching powder in the market is sprinkled on a subject.

18. Dependent variable
my answer: If the newest best itching powder causes 50% longer lasting itches.

19. Explain whether the data supports the advertisements claims about its product.
my answer: The data does support the advertisement's claim because it claimed that it causes 50% longer lasting itches and in the experiment the subject B had itches for 45 minutes with the advertisement itching powder for 45 minutes with the original powder, when subject B had itches for 45 minutes with the original powder.

Lisa is working on a science project. Her task is to answer the question: "Does Rogooti (which is a commercial hair product) affect the speed of hair growth". Her family is willing to volunteer for the experiment.

20. Describe how Lisa would perform this experiment. Identify the control group, and the independent and dependent variables in your description.
my answer: i will be posting this answer later in the answers section and if you have any suggestions of this question then please tell me in the answers section as it will help me with it.

if i made any errors or any suggestions for my answers then please tell me in the answers section. i was in a rush so i might have some errors in it and i didn't really think too much about this assignment. tank you tutors for reviewing my work !

okay so for number 20 i think:

Lisa bought Rogooti to see if it effected the speed of hair growth. Lisa rubbed the Rogooti on Bart's hair every day with the same amount of Rogooti and compared Bart's hair's length to the length of his hair the day before.

control group: bart's hair's length the day before

dependent variable: speed of hair growth
independent variable: adding rogooti to Bart's hair

Great job on answering the questions! Here is the review of your answers:

1. Control Group: Correct, Group B is the control group because they were not given the special juice.
2. Independent Variable: Correct, the special juice is the independent variable as it is being manipulated.
3. Dependent Variable: Correct, the productivity of the workers is the dependent variable being measured.
4. Smithers' Conclusion: Your answer is reasonable, but it might be better to state that there is no significant difference in productivity between the groups.
5. Improvement for the Experiment: Well done, your suggestion of having Group B drink water as the control group is a good way to improve the experiment.

6. Homer's Observation: Correct, Homer observed that there was no change in the appearance of the green slime.
7. Control Group: Correct, the side of the shower sprayed with water is the control group.
8. Independent Variable: Correct, the coconut juice is the independent variable as it is being compared to water.
9. Dependent Variable: Correct, the cleanliness or appearance of the green slime is the dependent variable being measured.
10. Homer's Conclusion: Good answer, Homer's conclusion should be that coconut juice does not have an effect on the appearance of the green slime.

11. Control Group: Correct, the 10 non-microwaved mice are the control group.
12. Independent Variable: Correct, the 10 microwaved mice for 10 seconds are the independent variable.
13. Dependent Variable: Correct, the strength of the microwaved and non-microwaved mice is the dependent variable being measured.
14. Bart's Conclusion: Good answer, Bart's conclusion should be that microwaved mice are slightly stronger than non-microwaved mice.
15. Improvement for the Experiment: Great suggestion, having another group of microwaved mice exposed for a longer duration would increase the accuracy of the results.

16. Control Group: Correct, the original itching powder sprinkled on a subject is the control group.
17. Independent Variable: Correct, the experimental itching powder is the independent variable being tested.
18. Dependent Variable: Correct, the duration of itching is the dependent variable being measured.
19. Data and Advertisements: Your answer is a bit confusing. It seems that you are saying the claim is supported because subject B had itches for 45 minutes with the original powder. However, it is not clear what the duration of itches was for subject A with the original powder. Please clarify this for a more accurate evaluation.

As for question 20, I appreciate your effort, but since you mentioned that you will post it later, I will have to wait for it to provide feedback.

Overall, you did a good job with the questions. Just make sure to clarify your answer for question 19. Keep up the good work!
