All organisms possess certain characteristics that distinguish them from non-living things. These seven characteristics are:

6. Response to stimuli: Organisms can detect and respond to changes in their surroundings. They can react to environmental cues and adjust their behaviors accordingly.

7. Evolutionary adaptation: Organisms have the ability to change over time through the process of evolution. They can adapt to their environments through genetic changes and natural selection.

Regarding the biosphere, it refers to the part of the Earth where life exists. It includes all ecosystems and living organisms on our planet. The biosphere has not been given a specific name other than "the biosphere" itself. It encompasses the atmosphere, lithosphere (land), and hydrosphere (water).

However, it is worth mentioning that Earth itself has been given several names, such as "the Blue Planet" due to its large water bodies and "Gaia" as a metaphorical name used to signify the Earth as a single interconnected living organism. But these names do not specifically refer to the biosphere itself.
