writing an equation of a line given the y-intercept and another point.

It say to write an equation of the line

one point is on y0 and x is on -6.

Thank you

You did not give the y-intercept nor the point. So I am going to solve a problem with that INFO given.

Given: Y-intercept = 4 or(0,4), and P2(2,6). Find the Eq. of the line.

P1(0,4), P2(2,6).
Slope = (y2-y1)/x2-x1) = (6-4)/(2-0) = 1.

Y = mx + b.
Y = x + 4.
