Are "drinks' food according to the definition of a dictionary?

We refer to "food and drinks" or "food and beverages" almost as a single term.

Technically, most drinks are not food. Soda, wine, water, milk, and others may or may not have any nutritional value. Soda and alcoholic drinks generally have no nutritional value, and are actually harmful. Milk, water, different kinds of fruit and vegetable juice (without added sugar!) do have nutritional value.

Overall, I wouldn't consider "drinks" as food.
