To simplify 6P2, we need to find the permutation of 6 objects taken 2 at a time. The formula for permutation is given by nPr = n! / (n-r)!, where n is the total number of objects and r is the number of objects taken at a time.

Using this formula, we can simplify 6P2 as follows:

6P2 = 6! / (6-2)!
= 6! / 4!
= 6 * 5 * 4! / 4!
= 6 * 5
= 30

Therefore, the correct option is A. 30.

To simplify 8c5, we need to find the combination of 8 objects taken 5 at a time. The formula for combination is given by nCr = n! / (r!(n-r)!), where n is the total number of objects and r is the number of objects taken at a time.

Using this formula, we can simplify 8c5 as follows:

8c5 = 8! / (5!(8-5)!)
= 8! / (5!3!)
= 8 * 7 * 6! / (5!3!)
= 8 * 7 / 3!
= 8 * 7 / (3 * 2 * 1)
= 56 / 6
= 56 / 6
= 8

Therefore, the correct option is C. 56.

Thank you

matt, I don't understand how you got that. The formula for permutation is n!/(n-r)! so that would be 6!/(6-2)! and then 6 - 2 = 4, so you would do

6 x 5 x 4 = 120, but after that I'm not sure. You certainly don't do
6 x 5, there is more to it than that. Please help!

6!/(6-2)! = 6*5 = 30 yes

8!/ [ 5! (3!) ] = 8*7*6/(3*2) = 56 sure enough

The answer is C, just took the test
