How would an anthropologist from the U.S. or Europe view any culture's domestic control of women without being biased and condemning?

Anthropologists are educated not to be biased in considering the mores of other cultures. Remember that U.S. women were not able to vote until less than 100 years ago. Many gender discrimination laws have fallen here in the last 50 years. For instance, married women could not be hired as teachers in Youngstown, Ohio, as late as 1954. Title IX prohibiting gender discrimination in schools was passed in 1972.
