Can someone check my answers to this? I'm really confused on these practice problems. Thanks!

Directions: Using informal, formal, plural and nosotros commands (use Dop's/Iop's if needed) to correctly
answer the questions. The names in parathenisis are what form the sentences is in.

1.) Don't come! (friend)

My answer: No vengas!

2.) Let's study the book! (Form sentence using the correct pronoun/s)

My answer: Vamos a estudiar el libro!

3.) Write! (teacher)

My answer: Escribe!

4.) Walk the dog for me! (For the sentence using the correct pronoun/s to plural people)

My answer: Pasear al perro para mí!

5.) Eat! (friend)

My answer: Coma!

I'll send this to our Spanish expert, SraJMcGin.

Are you and Debbie in the same class? I corrected these for her on Friday!

#1. correct
#2. Yes, unless you are in Spanish III and have studied the REAL let us or let's command, using the Subjunctive. In that case, it would be "estudiemos el libro" = estudiémoslo.
#3. This needs to be the formal, or Ud., command. Since escribir is an -ir infinitive, the theme vowel is now "a" = Escriba
#4 Pasear is the infinitive, NOT the command. the plural, or Uds. command is "Paseen el perro para mí. the first "e" in Pase is from the stem and the second "e" (en) is in the ending, so although it may look strange to you with double "e" it is correct. I would not use the "personal a" unless it is MY dog! = Paseen el perro para mí OR Paseénme el perro or Paseémelo.

I'm not sure from the directions that you are to change the direct object/indirect object nouns, etc. or not.

#5 Eat to a friend is the tú or familiar command, usually looking like the 3rd person singular, if the verb is regular. Come = in this case.

I'll flag this and come back later to see if you still have questions.

Sra

Thank you so much for your help! I have one last question:

Form the command using the correct pronoun/s to a friend: Don't make a salad for me!

No me hagas una ensalada (para mí).

You can add "para mí" for emphasis but the "me" in front of "hagas" makes it clear.

IF you are to replace "una ensalada" which is the direct-object noun, the sentence would be = No me la hagas.

Sra

To check your answers, let's break down each question and see if the commands you provided align with the given instructions.

1.) Don't come! (friend)
Your answer: No vengas!
Correct! The informal negative command for "Don't come!" in Spanish is "No vengas!" when addressing a friend.

2.) Let's study the book! (Form sentence using the correct pronoun/s)
Your answer: Vamos a estudiar el libro!
Correct! To express the idea of "Let's do something," you use the first-person plural form of the verb. In this case, "Vamos a estudiar el libro!" is the correct command for "Let's study the book!"

3.) Write! (teacher)
Your answer: Escribe!
Correct! When addressing a singular person as a command, you use the formal singular form of the verb, which in this case is "Escribe!"

4.) Walk the dog for me! (For sentence using the correct pronoun/s to plural people)
Your answer: Pasear al perro para mí!
Not quite correct. The command should be formatted to address multiple people. To do this, you would use the plural form of the verb and pronouns.

The correct answer would be: "Paseen al perro por mí!" In this command, "Paseen" is the plural command form of "Pasear" (to walk), and "por mí" is the correct pronoun phrase meaning "for me."

5.) Eat! (friend)
Your answer: Coma!
Not quite correct. The command should be informal, addressing a friend.

The correct answer would be: "Come!" In this command, "Come" is the informal singular command form of "Comer" (to eat) when addressing a friend.

Overall, you did a great job with most of the commands. Just remember to pay attention to the correct pronouns and forms of the verb for each specific situation.
