There are nine oak trees in a park. The oak trees make up 45% of all the trees in the park. How many trees are in the park?

This is how I wold solve this:

9 * .45 = ?

Use a calculator or something to figure it out.

Hope I helped. :)

So there are 4.05 trees in the park?

Well, there is 4 trees in the park.

Ok thank u

You're welcome, Amy

These answers make absolutely no sense!! If there are 9 oak trees, how can there only be 4 trees total???

Let x = the total number of trees.

0.45x = 9

x = 9 / 0.45

x = 20

So glad u are on here thanks for checking this

You're welcome. It's always a good idea to check back on previously answered questions. :-)

It's also a good idea to make sure that any answer anyone posts makes sense. If you don't understand -- ask again.

Ok I will

To find the total number of trees in the park, we can use the given information that the oak trees make up 45% of all the trees.

Let's assume the total number of trees in the park is "x".

According to the problem, the number of oak trees is 9, which is 45% of the total number of trees. Therefore, we can set up the equation:

9 = 0.45x

To solve for x, we need to isolate it on one side of the equation. Dividing both sides of the equation by 0.45:

9 ÷ 0.45 = x

Simplifying the left side of the equation gives us:

20 = x

Therefore, there are 20 trees in the park.
