Ross scored 7 points?

Let's check your answers:

1. To find the number of pieces of pie left, you correctly subtracted the fraction corresponding to the portion Joe and his friends ate, which is 3/8, from the whole pie. So, the calculation becomes 8/8 - 3/8, which equals 5/8 pieces of pie left. Therefore, your answer of 5/8 pieces left is correct.

2. To find Michaela's walking pace, you correctly divided the distance she walked, which is 2/5 miles, by the time it took her, which is 1/4 hour. When dividing fractions, you multiply the first fraction by the reciprocal of the second fraction. So, the calculation becomes (2/5) / (1/4) = (2/5) * (4/1) = 8/5 = 1 3/5 miles per hour. It seems you made a small mistake in your answer. The correct walking pace is 1 3/5 miles/hour, or you can also write it as a mixed number: 1.6 miles/hour.

Overall, your answers are mostly correct, with just a small error in question 2. Keep up the good work!
