Multiply. Write each product in simplest form.

1. 2 3/8 * 1 3/5 = 3 4/5
2. 1 5/6 * 2/3 = 11/10
3. 7/8 * 3 1/3 = 35/27
Do I have the correct answers? If not can someone show how to solve them?

Odd - you got #1 correct, but missed the other two.

1 5/6 * 2/3 = 11/6 * 2/3 = 22/18 = 11/9

7/8 * 3 1/3 = 7/8 * 10/3 = 70/24 = 35/12

How ever did you arrive at those answers? #2 I could call a typo, but not #3.

3/7 2/3

To multiply fractions or mixed numbers, you follow a few steps:

1. If you have mixed numbers, convert them to improper fractions.
2. Multiply the numerators together.
3. Multiply the denominators together.
4. Simplify the resulting fraction, if possible.

Let's solve the problems you provided:

1. 2 3/8 * 1 3/5
To multiply mixed numbers, convert them to improper fractions:
2 3/8 = (2 * 8 + 3)/8 = 19/8
1 3/5 = (1 * 5 + 3)/5 = 8/5

Now, multiply the numerators together: 19 * 8 = 152
And multiply the denominators together: 8 * 5 = 40

The product is 152/40. To simplify it, divide both the numerator and denominator by their greatest common divisor (GCD), which is 8 in this case.
152/40 ÷ 8/8 = 19/5.

So, the answer is 19/5, which is equivalent to 3 4/5.

2. 1 5/6 * 2/3
Convert the mixed number to an improper fraction:
1 5/6 = (1 * 6 + 5)/6 = 11/6

Multiply the numerators: 11 * 2 = 22
Multiply the denominators: 6 * 3 = 18

The product is 22/18. To simplify it, divide the numerator and denominator by their GCD, which is 2 in this case.
22/18 ÷ 2/2 = 11/9.

So, the answer is 11/9.

3. 7/8 * 3 1/3
Convert the mixed number to an improper fraction:
3 1/3 = (3 * 3 + 1)/3 = 10/3

Multiply the numerators: 7 * 10 = 70
Multiply the denominators: 8 * 3 = 24

The product is 70/24. To simplify it, divide the numerator and denominator by their GCD, which is 2 in this case.
70/24 ÷ 2/2 = 35/12.

So, the answer is 35/12.
