Re-write the sentences in Spanish.

Are my answers correct? Thanks! :)

1.) I used to eat.
2.) Clean!!
3.) You (informal) have seen the movie.
4.) I practiced yesterday.
5.) When I was young, I played soccer.

My answers:

1.)Yo solía comer.
2.)Limpio!
3.)Usted ha visto la película.
4.)Practiqué ayer.
5.)Cuando yo era joven, jugaba al fútbol.

I'll send this link to Sra.

Since you do not give more explicit directions, merely saying "Rewrite in Spanish" #1 is one way. Another way is with the imperfect which translates I used to eat, I was eating = comía...

#2. This is merely the masculine singular form of the adjective OR the yo form, Present Indicative. Simply seeing "Clean!" it is now a command. You have choices = tú familiar, ud. formal among other choices. Since you do not know to WHOM this is directed, I'd choose the formal = ¡Limpie! However the familiar command would be ¡Limpia! looking exactly like the 3rd person singular form of the Present Indiative.

#3. Do you see the word INFORMAL? That means the familiar tú form, versus the formal or usted. Tú has visto la película.

#4. perfect!
#5. There is a decision to make here. When I was young, I used to lay football = that is what you have. If, on the other hand, you consider a block of time, it would be the Preterit = jugué. This is only if you have studied the difference between the Imperfect and the Preterit.

I'll flag this so I can come back later to see if you have any questions.

Sra

@Sra,

I did these three as well.

1.) You and I went to the movie.
2.) We used to go to the park.
3.) They did the homework yesterday.

My answers:

1.)Usted y yo fuimos al cine.
2.)Solíamos ir al parque.
3.)Solía comprar libros para los estudiantes.

Whoops! For #3, that was my other answer. My real answer is: Hicieron los deberes de ayer.

#1. There is a difference between "el cine" = the movie theater and "la película" = the movie/film.

#2. Again, you might use the imperfect = Ibamos al parque.

#3. Hicieron la tarea = just another way.

Sra

Great job on your answers!

To re-write the sentences in Spanish, you can follow these steps:

1.) To express "used to" in Spanish, you can use the phrase "solía + verb." So, "I used to eat" can be translated as "Yo solía comer."

2.) The word "Clean!!" can be translated directly to Spanish as "¡Limpio!" Here, the exclamation marks help express the emphasis or enthusiasm.

3.) The sentence "You (informal) have seen the movie." can be translated as "Tú has visto la película." Keep in mind that "tú" is the informal form of "you" in Spanish, and "ha visto" is the present perfect tense form of the verb "ver" meaning "to see."

4.) "I practiced yesterday" can be translated as "Practiqué ayer." Here, "practiqué" is the past tense form of the verb "practicar" meaning "to practice."

5.) "When I was young, I played soccer" can be translated as "Cuando yo era joven, jugaba al fútbol." In this sentence, "cuando" means "when," "yo era joven" translates to "I was young," and "jugaba" is the imperfect tense form of the verb "jugar" meaning "to play." The expression "al fútbol" is used to specify playing soccer.

Remember, practicing and using Spanish regularly will help you improve your fluency. Keep up the good work! ¡Sigue así!
