Thank you for your help. Could you check the following?

What will Sonya's family do this weekend?
1. They will plant potatoes.
2. Her family will plant potatoes.

(Are both grammatical? Which answer is common?)

1. and 2. are correct

Both sentences are grammatically correct, but the second sentence "Her family will plant potatoes" is more common and natural-sounding. This is because when talking about someone's family, it is more common to use possessive determiners like "her" to indicate possession.
