Name the position of the first digit of the quotient.

2. 217/7

I don't understand. Someone please explain to me.

since 832 >= 400, 832/400 > 1, and the 1st digit is in the hundreds position

217 < 700, but 217 >= 70, so 1st digit of quotient is in the tens position.
