sodium chloride (relative molecular mass = 58.5) had a solubility of 36.0 g per 100g of water. the density of the solution is 1.13 g/ml. which of the following calculations would give te solubility in moles per liter?

A) 36.0 x 10/58.5
b) 36.0 x 10 x 1.13/(58.5 x 136)
c) 36.0 x 1000/(58.5 x 1.13)
d) 36.0 x 1000 x 1.13/(58.5 x 136)

  • chem - ,

    M = mols/L
    mol = 36.0/58.5
    volume = mass/density = 136/(1.13*1000)
    So M = (36.0/58.5)/[136/(1.13*1000]
    Check me out on this. This would make it
    (36.0/58.5) x (1.13*1000/136) =
    (36.0 x 1.13 x 1000/136 x 58.5 = ?

    thanks! where is the 136 coming from tho??
