What is the slope of the tangent line passing through the point (2, 3) of the graph of this function?

f(x)=x^2+2x−5

A) 1

B) 2

C) 3

D) 4

E) 6

f(2)=2^2+2(2)-5

f(2)=3

so is it c?

ok so far, though they already told you that f(2)=3 because the point (2,3) is on the graph.

As you know, the slope at any point (x,y) on the graph is 2x+2

So, the slope at x=2 is 6

Though, if this is pre-calc, how do you know the slope of the tangent to a curve? That's actual calculus.
