I need to write research paper and I trying to find topic to write about. Teacher say to avoid topics that u can't be open minded about like abortion and said to avoid paranormal and those involving personal religious beliefs. He said to restrict selection to topics that have abundance of scholarly secondary sources. Have to narrow down from broad topic -capital punishment-to particular research problem. Have to identity research stint and prestige abstraction.

Can someone please give me a topic and post link to a site?

Do any of these interest you?

Based on your requirements, a possible topic for your research paper could be "The Effectiveness of Capital Punishment in Deterrence." This topic allows you to explore the research problem of whether or not capital punishment serves as an effective deterrent to crime.

To find scholarly secondary sources, you can search through academic databases, such as JSTOR, Google Scholar, or the Social Sciences Citation Index. These platforms provide access to a wide range of academic articles, books, and research studies.
