since the given line has slope -2, we want slope 1/2.

So, y = x/2 + b

Since when x=0, y=3, b=3 and

y = x/2 + 3

So, when y=0, x=?

Neither, it would be -6

taking Steve's equation of y= x/2 + 3 , and letting y = 0

0 = x/2 + 3

-3 = x/2

-6 = x
