**Henry**, Wednesday, December 11, 2013 at 3:49pmX^2 - 3X - 7 = 0

This Eq cannot be factored.

Use the Quadratic Formula:

X = (-B +- sqrt(B^2-4AC))/2A

X = (3 +- Sqrt(9+28))/2

X = (3 +- 6.08)/2 = 4.54, and -1.54.
