How does having a large, sweet fruit benefit a plant?
7 answers
The fruit will be eaten by birds and the plants' seeds will be scattered in the birds' feces.
Does it benefit the plant while it is still attached and not being eaten?
No. The only purpose in the fruit of a plant is to contain the seeds. That's Mother Nature's way of ensuring that the plant is reproduced.
