A baseball player has 34 hits in 102 times at bat. Another baseball player has 24 hits in 96 times at bat. Write each player's batting average.

Here's what I did:

34/102 = BP #1
24/96 = BP #2

34/102 = 1/3
24/96 = 1/4

1/3 --> 4/12
1/4 --> 3/12

4/12 + 3/12 = 7/12

7/12 divided by 2 = 7/24 OR 0.29167

Is this correct?

no

How can I fix it? Thanks! :D

34/102 = .333

24/96 = .250

Yes you were right --- its shown as the way I showed it rather then a fraction

Your calculations are correct, but the final calculation for the batting average is not accurate.

To calculate a baseball player's batting average, you divide the number of hits by the number of times at bat.

For the first baseball player:

Batting average = 34 hits / 102 at bats
= 0.3333
= 33.33%

For the second baseball player:

Batting average = 24 hits / 96 at bats
= 0.25
= 25%

So the correct batting averages for the two players are 33.33% and 25%.
