What was the name of the people who settled Gaul that became modern France?

Was is the romans??? or the celtics???

Although the Romans conquered Gaul, they didn't settle there.

The original inhabitants of Gaul were "of three main ethno-linguistic groups in the area: the Gauls, the Aquitani, and the Belgae. The Gauls, the largest and best attested group, were a Celtic people speaking what is known as the Gaulish language."

Sweet! I knew it! Thank you :)

:-)

You're welcome.

The people who eventually settled Gaul, which is modern-day France, were the Celts. However, it's important to note that Gaul experienced various waves of settlement and migration over the centuries. Initially, Celts known as Gauls settled the region around the 5th century BC. Later, in 58 BC, the Romans, led by Julius Caesar, conquered Gaul and established Roman rule. The Romans greatly influenced the culture and development of the region. So, while both Celts and Romans played significant roles in Gaul's history, it was the Celts who originally settled the territory.
