The question is

(2x+1)^2-2(2x^2-1) in simplest form

Is this correct?

[(2x+1)(2x+1)](-4x^2+2)

4x^2+2x+2x+1(-4x^2+2)

4x^2+4x+1(-4x^2+2)

-16x^4-16x^3-4x^2

+ 8x^2+8x+2

-16^4-16x^3+4x^2+8x +2

Did I do this correctly?

Thank you for your help.

the way you typed it , I saw a subraction

(2x+1)^2 - 2(2x^2-1)

= 4x^2 + 4x + 1 - 4x^2 + 2

= 4x + 3

You did

((2x+1)^2 )(-2)(2x^2-1)
