1) Which of the following is a solution to the equation y=3x-1?
(4,1)***
(2,5)
(4,3)
(0,-3)

2) Which equation represents the pattern in the table below?
(Sals and Carrie’s Ages)
Sal 3 5 8 13 15
Carrie 7 9 12 17 19

S=c+4***
S=4c
C=s+4
C+4s

3) Solve. 1/3x=12
X=4
X=15
X=36***
X=39

4) 3/2x-4=16
X=20
X=13 1/3
X= 15 1/3***
30

5) Use the given equation to find the solution to the following problem.
C=\$9.95
C=\$20.45***
C=\$144.45

6) Write an equation and solve to find the solution to the following problem.
You have \$27 to spend at the mall and a coupon for \$6 off at your favorite store. A t-shirt costs \$11. How many t-shirts can you buy using your coupon and money?

#1, nope
try (2,5) in y = 3x-1
LS = 5
RS = 3(2)-1 = 6-1 = 5 = LS
so it is (2,5) not the one you picked

#2 looks like we have to add 4 to Sally's age to get Carries
so C = S+4

#3, correct

#4
(3/2)x - 4 = 16
(3/2)x = 20
3x = 40
x = 40/3 = 13 1/3

#5 correct

#6 correct, if you ignore sales tax
