According to Lips (2008), Plato “described women and men as having the same nature and worth and deserving the same education and legal treatment” (p. 57). These ideas of having the same nature have changed over the centuries. Most theories regarding gender have evolved from a hierarchical approach and then to an “opposites” approach.
