Not exactly sure how to solve this.
2000 tickets were sold for a play generating $19,700. The price for tickets $5 for children, $10.00 for students and $12.00 for adults. There were 100 more adult tickets sold than students. Find the number of each type of ticket sold.
Thanks for your help.
X Students sold.
X+100 Adult tickets sold.
2000-(x+x+100) = 1900-2x Children tickets sold.
10x + 12(x+100) + 5(1900-2x) = $19,700.
10x + 12x+1200 + 9500-10x = 19700
12x = 19700-10700 = 9000
X = 750
X+100 = 850
1900-2x = 400.
