I do not know what you mean by "the circle is 6 inches"

I can only assume you mean that the circumference C=6 inches.

So, since C=2πr,

6=2πr

r = 3/π

Or, maybe you mean that the diameter is 6 inches. In that case, r=6/2 = 3 inches
