how do we calculate the equilibrant if the upward force is 450N and the downward force is 750N acting on the same line?

  • building science -

SThe sum of forces has to be zero.

    Upward-downward+Equilibrant=0

    so Equilibriant=downward-Upward

if Equilibrant is +, it is upward, if it is negative, downward.
