How long is a rectangular strip of land with a width of 5/4 km and an area of 3/4 square km ?

    3/4=L5/4
    Times each side by 4/5
    3/4 times 4/5 =?
    therefore, L= ?

    the answer L is 3/5

    You have to do 3/4 divided by 5/4. you do that by flipping 5/4 to its reciprical, 4/5. then, you multiply 3 X 4 = 12 and 4 X 5 = 20. your answer is 12/20. then you reduce it and come up with 3/5
