Simplify.
1. Log base 4 of 256^2
IS THE ANSWER 8....IF SO AM I SMART?
2. Log of 45 ^x
Is the answer 1.65X?
3. Log base 6 of 12 ^(x+1)
Is the answer 1.39x+1.39?
256^2 = (4^4)^2 = 4^8
so, you are correct.
But, you can't be smart IF YOU SHOUT IN CAPS!!
log 45^x = x log45, so you are correct again.
log 12^(x+1) = (x+1) log 12/log 6, so you are right again.
Don't know whether you're smart, but you seem to understand logs. Better than I did when I was in Algebra II. Got a D on my first test with logs. A bit later it all clicked, and was clear sailing thereafter.
