how do i solve -9(w-3)=8w-7?

  • math - ,

    Multiply the -9 using the distributive law.
    -9w + 27 = 8w -8

    You have a couple choices here, but I would add 9w to both sides. This cancel with -9w leaving

    27 = 17w -8

    Add 8 to both sides and then divide both sides by 8 to solve for w.

    Can you finish from here?
