two sides of a triangle have the ratio of 3:4. The hypotenuse is 20. What are the measures of the two other sides?

Sounds like a right triangle.
use c^2 = a^2 + b^2
c = 20 a = 3x b = 4x
400 = 9x^2+ 16x^2
solve for x^2 and then take the square root to find x.
Multiply this value times the 3 to find one side
times the 4 to find the other side.
