''Dan saved $463 over the 12 weeks of summer break He saved$297 of it during the last 4 weeks. How much did he save during the 1st 8 weeks.'' I have to draw a picture,write an equation,and write a variable.I don't know how to draw the picture or do the question. Will you help me?

x + 297 = 463

I'd draw a rectangle and divide it into thirds. Shade 2/3 of it to represent the first 8 weeks.

The answer is $166 because you subtract the total amount $463 - the savings of the 4 weeks $297 and you get $166 for the 8 weeks
