Solving 3 2/5 + 7 1/3
3 2/5 can be written as 17/5
and 7 1/3 can written as 22/3
So, adding 17/5 + 22/3
Multiply the denominator 5*3 will give as 15.. writing the two fractions where 15 is the denominator.
17/5*3/3 = 51/15
22/3*5/5 = 110/15
adding the two 51/15 + 110/15, will give us 161/15 or 10 11/15
