4 5/8 + 9 3/5 =

need to show how I got answer

I know that the Lcd is 40 and then it is 25/40 + 24/40= 49/40 and then I don't know what to do from there

4 5/8 = 4 25/40
9 3/5 = 9 24/40

Add the whole numbers and then add the fraction numerators.

13 49/40

That's more than 13 -- so --

14 9/40
